Dr. David Wemmer graduated summa cum laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1978 from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. He completed a US Public Health Service Residency in Seattle, Washington in 1978-1979 and participated in the Indian Health Service program at the Brighton Reservation in Florida from 1979-1981. Dr. Wemmer completed his studies at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center in 1983 with special training in orthodontics. In addition, Dr. Wemmer attended Anne Arundel Community College and Towson State University as an undergraduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Dr. Wemmer’s goal as an orthodontist is to change people’s lives for the better by improving their smiles through the magic of orthodontics. He has practiced orthodontics since 1983, and he remains committed to participating in continuing education as often as he can.

Dr. Wemmer has been married to his wife, Patricia, for forty-six years and they have been residents of Okeechobee for the past 32 years. They have three daughters: Jennifer, who is an orthodontist, Ann, who practices as a general dentist, and Chrissy, who works as an attorney. Dr. Wemmer and his wife enjoy playing with their six grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr. Wemmer also likes to play tennis and basketball, hike, fish, and watch University of Florida Gator sports. Of which he is a HUGE fan of Gator football.
